Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan says his daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai will continue acting in films, bucking the trend of actresses quitting the industry after marriage, reports said on Thursday.
Rai's marriage last week to actor Abhishek Bachchan, captivated film-crazy Indians, who wondered if the former Miss World would continue her career.
"Jaya and I have insisted that Aishwarya must continue with her acting career," Bachchan told the Times of India, referring to his actress wife who disappeared from the screen after marriage and resurfaced nearly two decades later.

Photos of Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachan Mehendi Ceremony
Now that one of the most hyped Bollywood weddings of recent times is over and megastar Amitabh Bachchan's son Abhishek and beauty queen Aishwarya Rai are man and wife, the media (both print and broadcast) are going ballistic claiming to know about their honeymoon destination. It seems that both Abhishek and Aishwarya, will first complete their prior commitments (like JODHAA AKBAR for Aishwarya).
As far as their honeymoon is concerned, chances are that the newlyweds may visit a few places soon but the formal honeymoon will be in Cannes, France, where their 42 crore earner GURU is one of the few Bollywood films that will feature at the prestigious festival. For those who do not know, the next edition of the Cannes Film Festival will be held from 16th to the 27th of May, 2007. So now see the photos of their mehendi ceremony.

Wedding photos of Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachan
Bollywood's most anticipated wedding was finally formalised today (April 20). Former Miss World Aishwarya Rai and Bollywood heartthrob Abhishek Bachchan are now officially husband and wife.
The two stars exchanged nuptial vows at a colourful but extremely private ceremony today. Abhishek (31) and Aishwarya (33) entered into wedlock in a north Indian style ceremony with the golden couple exchanging garlands at Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan's family home "Prateeksha" in Mumbai.
Abhishek set off on a short journey from his suburban residence Jalsa to fetch his bride Aishwarya Rai, marking the start of their elaborate wedding. The traditional 'baraat' started at around 5 pm with Abhishek riding a colourfully decorated white horse and his nephew Agastya -- his sister Shweta Nanda's son -- sitting in front of him.
